Nokia just launched their 14th Asha phone, the Asha 310, which is the first Asha to feature both WiFi and Dual SIM capability, and it retails for only RM300.

The Nokia Asha 310 was announced just last month during the Mobile World Congress and is marketed towards consumers looking for their first full touchscreen smartphone from a tried and tested brand known for their chic design and durability.

This handset features a 3-inch touchscreen with a scratch-resistant glass. Don’t expect a sharp display with its 240 x 400 resolution though. The screen is still big enough to do some web surfing using the data-friendly Nokia Xpress Browser, use it as a navigator with Nokia Maps, and enjoy streaming videos from YouTube. It’s going to be useful for gaming as well with the included 40 free premium game titles from Electronic Arts for you to download.

The S40-based Asha 310 is also equipped with WiFi capability so you don’t have to rely on your data connection (2G only) to go online which you would want to do if you need to access Facebook, Twitter, or chat using messaging apps such as Nimbuzz, eBuddy, and Line (Viber and WhatsApp are still on the works). It also features Easy Swap Dual SIM which allows you to switch between SIMs depending on your needs.

This phone is also equipped with a 2-megapixel camera and has microSD support of up to 32GB for storage (4GB microSD is included). Battery is rated at 1100mAh which gives the Asha 310 more than a week’s worth of standby time.

The Nokia Asha 310 will be available in Nokia stores and resellers starting this weekend with an SRP.
